The Bainbridge Chook Tower Chicken Feeder is an Australian-designed and Australian-made poultry feeder with an approximate 4.4kg feed capacity, a modular expandable design and flexible mounting options for backyard chicken coops, poultry runs and free-range setups.
Designed to help reduce feed flicking, scratching and contamination, the Chook Tower keeps poultry feed contained inside a covered vertical feeder while still providing comfortable access for chickens.
The feeder can be mounted on wire fencing, attached to a wall or post, suspended from a roof or beam, or positioned so it can be filled from outside the chicken coop. An optional Chook Tower Extension Tube can also be added when greater feed capacity is required.
The standard Bainbridge Chook Tower Feeder holds approximately 4.4kg of poultry feed.
If additional capacity is required, Bainbridge offers a separate extension tube that adds approximately 3.3kg of extra feed capacity per extension.
Capacity figures are approximate and will vary according to the type, size and density of poultry feed being used. Bainbridge's capacity testing was conducted using whole mixed grain.
Chickens can scatter significant amounts of feed when scratching or flicking grain from an open feeding tray.
The Bainbridge Chook Tower uses a covered feeding opening designed to provide birds with access to their feed while reducing unnecessary scratching and flicking.
The vertical feeder body also stores the majority of the feed away from the immediate feeding area, helping keep the poultry feeding setup more organised.
No poultry feeder can completely eliminate feed waste, but choosing an appropriately designed feeder and positioning it correctly can help reduce the amount of feed scattered around the coop or run.
Feed left exposed inside a chicken coop can attract rodents and other unwanted animals.
The Bainbridge Chook Tower provides several installation options that allow the feeder to be raised from ground level or positioned away from locations that are easier for rodents to access.
An optional Bainbridge Chook Tower Vermin Closure Cap is also available separately. The cap fits over the feeder opening so it can be closed overnight when the chickens are not feeding.
Please note: the standard Chook Tower Feeder should not be described as completely rodent-proof. Correct placement, feed-storage practices and overnight management remain important parts of rodent control around poultry areas.

The Chook Tower has been designed for Australian poultry environments with a covered lid, enclosed vertical feed tube and protective feeding hood.
Bainbridge designed the lid and tube without open gaps that could unnecessarily expose stored feed to rain or wind, while the feeding hood has been tested to minimise water entering the feeder during rain events.
As with all poultry feed, the feeder should be installed in the most suitable location available and checked regularly to ensure the contents remain clean, dry and suitable for feeding.
One of the strongest features of the Bainbridge Chook Tower is its flexible installation system. The feeder can be adapted to different chicken coops, runs and backyard layouts.
Rear hooks allow the Chook Tower to be hung directly from suitable wire fencing.
Additional holes in the rear hooks provide an option for securing the feeder with suitable cable ties where required.
The supplied bracket set can be used to mount the feeder to a suitable wall or post.
Holes incorporated into the feeder handle allow it to be suspended from a suitable roof structure or beam.
Always ensure the mounting surface and chosen fixings can safely support the feeder when it is fully loaded.
The Chook Tower incorporates a reversible tube design, allowing the feeder to be configured so the filling point can be accessed from outside a suitable poultry enclosure.
This can make everyday feeding more convenient because the keeper may be able to top up the feeder without entering the chicken coop or run.
The exact setup will depend on the design of your enclosure and chosen mounting position.
Every major part of the Bainbridge Chook Tower Feeder can be disassembled, allowing the unit to be cleaned as part of routine poultry-feeding hygiene.
Regularly removing old feed, dust and accumulated debris helps maintain better feed quality and a cleaner feeding environment.
Before refilling, make sure the feeder components are clean and appropriately dry for the poultry feed being used.
The main Chook Tower Feeder can be expanded or adapted using accessories available separately.
Accessories are sold separately and are not included with the standard feeder unless specifically stated.
The Bainbridge Chook Tower and a treadle feeder use different methods of managing poultry feed.
A Chook Tower Feeder gives chickens direct access to feed through a protected feeding opening and can be wall-mounted, fence-mounted or suspended.
A treadle feeder uses a stepping mechanism that opens the feed compartment when a chicken stands on the treadle.
The best choice depends on your flock, poultry area, preferred feeding method, capacity requirements and how important limiting access by rodents or wild birds is to your setup.
