Cob and Full are size labels, not universal measurements. Compare the exact halter model, its adjustment range and the supplier’s measuring guidance before choosing.

Why the label is only a starting point

Two halters marked Full may have different dimensions and adjustment positions. The horse's type or breed is not enough to identify the right size. Ask for the manufacturer's measuring method and the dimensions of the exact model rather than choosing from a familiar label alone.

Information to collect

Halter sizing enquiry checklist
Detail What to ask
Model Which product code and version are being measured?
Headpiece What adjustment range is available and where is it measured?
Nose section Which measurements and adjustment points apply?
Other straps Which parts are adjustable and which are fixed?
Assessment What fitting guidance and returns conditions are supplied?

Read construction and size together

A padded leather halter is a different product from a webbing or rope design. Padding, buckles and fixed sections affect what you need to check. Do not copy measurements from a visually similar halter or assume that adjusting one strap changes every part of the fit.

The X-Line halter

The Waldhausen X-Line Rose Gold Black halter has Cob and Full size options. Compare the model's measurements and adjustment range when choosing a size.

When the halter arrives

Confirm the model and size marking, inspect the supplied hardware and follow the manufacturer's fitting guidance. Ask an experienced equestrian professional to assess fit if you are unsure. The material or appearance of a halter does not establish that it is suitable for every handling, transport or turnout situation.

Compare the model's measurements rather than assuming that a shared size name guarantees the same fit.
